Who will benefit from a shower seat?

It continues to be an invaluable support for people with disabilities in the first place. When getting under the shower, they don’t have to worry that they fall over or they don’t have enough strength to take a shower. They can sit down and wash up in safer conditions. Shower seats come in useful in houses with elderly people and small children. It is also a great choice for those who like taking long showers: a comfortable seat will help you relax even more.

Shower seats – what can we choose from?

There is no doubt that seats are very practical. When choosing a model for your bathroom, first of all, you should check its strength and maximum load. A wall-mounted shower seat must provide safety for people of different weight. Its material is also important as the seat must have a pleasant feel. Models made of plastic can be found most often, but there are also models made of moisture-resistant exotic wood. In case of the latter, however, we need to reckon with a higher price. Some people choose seats with ceramic tiles finish, and usually these seats are finished with the same tiles that were used in the shower unit. In this way, they look discreet and unobtrusive. There are also stone seats, but although they look nice, they can be cold and therefore have a slightly unpleasant feel.

A folding shower seat is a good choice. It can be easily unfolded if needed, and when not in use, it won’t take up space. Seats offered by SanSwiss are just that. Their construction meets the medical standards, so they are suitable shower seats for people with disabilities. Their load capacity is up to 120kg and once folded, they adhere to the wall. They are available in two color options, gray and white, permitting you to match the seat with the shower tray or the color of the ceramic tiles.

If not a seat, then what?

Traditional seats used inside shower units are mounted to the wall. Some people worry that drilling into the tiles may damage them, and the space inside the unit will no longer look good. The same doubts may have people who, on one hand, think about this solution, and on the other hand, are not entirely convinced. And that’s when it’s worth opting for a shower stool, for example. It’s a great choice for any bathroom where for any reason, it is not possible to install a seat or a bench, or the seat is to be temporary. This type of stool has a solid, usually steel or aluminum construction, as well as non-slip legs, so you don’t have to worry that it moves or scratches the shower tray. Depending on the investor’s needs, a stool with fixed or adjustable height can be chosen. Special chairs with a contoured seat and backrest are recommended for people with disabilities.
